Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature (RT).
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
Target Information
Vinculin (VCL) is a cytoskeletal protein associated with cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix adherens-type junctions. It functions as one of several interacting proteins involved in anchoring F-actin to the membrane. Vinculin interacts with talin, integrin, and alpha-actinin, playing a key role in linking the extracellular matrix to the cytoplasmic microfilament system.
Mutations in the VCL gene can result in cardiomyopathy dilated 1W or familial hypertrophic 15.
