Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information

CD36 (Scavenger Receptor Class B Member 3) is expressed on various cell types including macrophages, platelets, and adipocytes. It is involved in lipid metabolism, inflammation, and atherosclerosis, mediating the uptake of oxidized LDL, long-chain fatty acids, and apoptotic cells. CD36 also functions as a receptor for thrombospondin and plays a role in malaria pathogenesis by mediating cytoadherence of Plasmodium falciparum-infected erythrocytes. Mutations in this gene can cause platelet glycoprotein deficiency and are associated with coronary heart disease.
