Target Information
HSP90 proteins are highly conserved molecular chaperones with key roles in signal transduction, protein folding, degradation, and morphologic evolution. They associate with cochaperones and are essential for folding newly synthesized proteins or refolding denatured proteins after stress.
There are two major cytosolic forms: HSP90AA1 (inducible) and HSP90AB1, as well as mitochondrial forms (Chen et al., 2005).
