Target Information

CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising approximately 10% of all surface proteins in lymphocytes. It is absent on non-hematopoietic cell lines and tissues.
CD45 glycoprotein is crucial in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions.
CD45RA is an isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid subtypes. Isoforms differ in membrane domain translocation ability and expression depending on cell type and physiological state.
CD45 regulates T- and B-cell antigen receptor signaling, modulates JAK kinase activity, and influences cytokine receptor signaling, integrin-mediated pathways, apoptosis, and immunological functions.
