Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising approximately 10% of all surface proteins in lymphocytes. It is absent on non-hematopoietic cell lines and tissues. CD45 glycoprotein regulates lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, acting as an important modulator of Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains. CD45RA, a CD45 isoform, shows restricted expression among lymphoid subtypes. CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling and cytokine receptor signaling via suppression of JAK kinases, and plays roles in cell survival, apoptosis, and immune regulation.
