Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-fluorescein, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified or partially purified Beta Galactosidase (E. coli).
Target Information
Beta Galactosidase encodes a member of the glycosyl hydrolase 35 family of proteins. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate the mature lysosomal enzyme.
This enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of a terminal beta-linked galactose residue from ganglioside substrates and other glycoconjugates.
Mutations in this gene have been associated with GM1-gangliosidosis and Morquio B syndrome. Diseases associated with GLB1 include GM1-Gangliosidosis Type I and Type II.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
