Target Information
GOT1 (Glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase 1) is a pyridoxal phosphate-dependent enzyme that exists in cytoplasmic (GOT1) and mitochondrial (GOT2) forms. It plays an essential role in amino acid metabolism and in the urea and tricarboxylic acid cycles. Both enzymes are homodimeric and highly homologous.
