Product Specific Information

For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10^6 cells in 100 µL.
Rat anti-Mouse CD4 antibody, clone YTS177.9 reacts with the Mouse CD4 antigen, non-polymorphic epitope (Qin et al. 1990).

Target Information

The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and acts as a co-receptor for HIV.
CD4 is primarily expressed in T helper cells but may also be found in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
At the tissue level, CD4 expression can be detected in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and other non-lymphoid tissues such as brain and gut.
CD4 functions to initiate or augment early T-cell activation through association with the T-cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase, Lck.
It may also play a role in neuronal damage in infectious and immune-mediated diseases of the CNS.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
