- Mouse anti-Human CD29 antibody, clone JB1B recognizes human integrin beta1 (CD29), also known as Fibronectin receptor subunit beta, Glycoprotein IIa, or VLA-4 subunit beta.
Target Information
ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29) is a 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed widely across various cell types including all leukocytes.
It forms non-covalent heterodimers with multiple alpha chains (α1–α6), determining the binding properties of beta1 (VLA) integrins.
ITGB1 functions as a cell adhesion molecule found on platelets and contributes to extracellular matrix interactions.
Decreased ITGB1 expression correlates with tumor multidrug resistance. It is upregulated during leukocyte migration and plays a key role in immune cell trafficking.
ITGB1 also regulates inflammation-related processes such as tissue damage in inflammatory bowel disease.
Fibronectin and type I collagen enhance cytokine secretion via ITGB1-dependent pathways.
Two major isoforms, beta1A and beta1D, differ by 13 amino acids and show tissue-specific distribution—beta1A in most tissues, beta1D in cardiac and skeletal muscle.
