- M620 detects IL-6 in Flow Cytometry, ELISA, and Western blot applications, showing reactivity with human samples.
- Immunogen: recombinant human IL-6.
- Detects IL-6 with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 22 kDa.
- The M620 IL-6 antibody (clone 5IL6) can be paired as a coating antibody in sandwich ELISA with detection antibody M621B (biotinylated clone 7IL6).
- Typical dilutions: 1 µg/mL for coating, 0.125–0.25 µg/mL for detection.
- M620 (clone 5IL6) and biotinylated M621B (clone 7IL6) have been used with recombinant IL6 protein (SIL6) in ELISA applications.
- Endotoxin level: ≤10 EU/mg (tested by LAL assay).
Target Information
IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B cell maturation.
This protein acts as an endogenous pyrogen inducing fever in autoimmune diseases or infections. It is mainly expressed at inflammation sites and induces transcriptional inflammatory responses via the interleukin 6 receptor (alpha).
IL-6 is implicated in various inflammation-related diseases, including diabetes mellitus susceptibility, systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and Kaposi sarcoma.
Elevated IL-6 levels have been observed in viral infections, including COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2).
