M621B targets IL-6 in ELISA and WB applications and shows reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is recombinant human IL-6.
M621B detects IL-6 with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 22 kDa.
The biotinylated M621B IL-6 antibody (clone 7IL6) has been successfully paired as the detection antibody in sandwich ELISA with capture antibody M620 (clone 5IL6).
Typical dilutions for sandwich ELISA include:
- Coating: 1 µg/mL
- Detection: 0.125–0.25 µg/mL
Biotinylated antibody M621B (clone 7IL6) and antibody M620 (clone 5IL6) have been used in combination with recombinant IL6 protein SIL6 in ELISA applications.
Target Information
IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B cell maturation.
The protein acts as an endogenous pyrogen and induces fever in autoimmune or infectious conditions.
It is mainly expressed at sites of acute and chronic inflammation, secreted into serum, and activates transcriptional inflammatory responses via the interleukin 6 receptor alpha.
IL-6 is implicated in various inflammation-related diseases, including diabetes mellitus and systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
Elevated IL-6 levels are observed in viral infections such as COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2).
Diseases associated with IL6 include Kaposi Sarcoma and Systemic Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.
