This antibody detects endogenous levels of NF-κB p105/p50 only when phosphorylated at Serine 893.

Target Information

NF-κB is a nuclear transcription factor activated by various extracellular and intracellular stimuli such as cytokines, UV radiation, stress, injury, and bacterial or viral products. It regulates cellular processes including growth, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammation.
NFKB1 (p50), a 50 kDa functional subunit of NF-κB, is a member of the Rel protein family. It is synthesized as a p105 precursor protein containing an N-terminal conserved RHD region with nuclear localization, DNA-binding, and dimerization domains. NFKB1 (p50) forms homodimers or heterodimers with p65 to create the functional NF-κB complex.
NF-κB plays a pathological role in conditions such as AIDS, hematogenic cancer cell metastasis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
