The Human CD96 (Tactile) Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures CD96 (Tactile) protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits so that you can create your own multiplex panel utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation.
When combining multiple Simplex kits (i.e., when not using a pre-configured Multiplex Panel), only one buffer kit (sold separately) is needed per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on sandwich ELISA principles, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantitate all protein targets simultaneously with a Luminex instrument.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single small-volume sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other bodily fluids.

Luminex beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create spectrally unique signatures identified by Luminex xMAP systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).
Similar to a sandwich ELISA, matched antibody pairs identify the protein of interest. Each spectrally unique bead is labeled with antibodies specific for a single target protein, and bound proteins are detected using biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

The capture antibody in the ProcartaPlex assay is conjugated to a bead, not adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing reagents to remain free-floating in solution. Detection instruments like Luminex 200 use two lasers—one to identify bead spectral signatures, and another to quantify RPE fluorescence proportional to protein amount.
ProcartaPlex multiplex assays can profile more target proteins using significantly less sample and time compared to traditional ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available across six species: human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
