The PA5-16519 immunogen is a synthetic peptide from the C-terminus of human Cyclin A.
Target Information
Cyclins are a family of regulatory proteins essential for eukaryotic cell cycle regulation. The mitotic Cyclin B/Cdc2 p34 kinase complex is a well-known example, acting as the active component of the maturation-promoting factor.
Cyclin A accumulates before Cyclin B during the cell cycle, participates in S-phase control, and associates with cyclin-dependent kinase-2 (Cdk2). It is also implicated in cell transformation and interacts with E1A, DRTF1, E2F, and retinoblastoma protein (p110).
A second isoform, Cyclin A1, shares high sequence homology with Xenopus Cyclin A1 and is predominantly expressed in germ cells. Cyclin A1 can associate with Cdk2, p39, and Cdc2 p34.
