Target Information

CD137 ligand (CD137L) is a type II membrane protein and a member of the TNF superfamily. It functions as a co-stimulatory molecule expressed on antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells, monocytes/macrophages, and B cells, and is upregulated upon activation.
Its receptor, CD137 (4-1BB), is expressed on various cells including activated T cells and inflamed endothelial cells, enhancing T cell proliferation, IL-2 secretion, survival, and cytotoxic activity.
CD137L is also expressed in most B-cell lymphomas (e.g., mantle cell, follicular, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma) and carcinoma cell lines, but not in Hodgkin or T-cell lymphomas. It plays a role in T cell–tumor cell interactions.
