Target Information
USP7 (also known as HAUSP) is a ubiquitin-specific protease that removes ubiquitin from its substrates. By counteracting ubiquitylation, USP7 stabilizes key regulatory proteins, including the tumor suppressor p53. It acts as an antagonist of Mdm2, preventing p53 degradation under stress or oncogenic conditions. USP7 is implicated in pathways regulating protein stability, stress responses, and tumor suppression.
