- Recommended shelf life: 1 year from date of receipt
- Application Note: For IHC, many tissues will not require epitope retrieval. However, to boost weak staining, epitope retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for FFPE tissue sections.
- Based on 100% sequence identity, this antibody is predicted to react with Rat.
Target Information
USP7 (also known as HAUSP) is a ubiquitin-specific protease that removes ubiquitin from substrate proteins. Ubiquitylation is typically associated with protein stability and degradation; thus, HAUSP activity stabilizes substrate proteins.
HAUSP is a direct antagonist of Mdm2, an E3 ubiquitin ligase for the tumor suppressor p53. Under normal conditions, Mdm2 mediates p53 degradation, keeping its levels low. In response to oncogenic stress, HAUSP deubiquitinates and stabilizes p53, suggesting a tumor suppressor role.
HAUSP may also participate in oncogenic stabilization of p53 through Myc and E1A activation pathways, potentially providing an alternative mechanism for cellular protection against oncogenic insults.
