Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody ALY7 recognizes mouse LYVE-1, a transmembrane glycoprotein similar to CD44. LYVE-1 is expressed on lymphatic and liver endothelial cells as well as certain macrophage populations. It contains a conserved hyaluronan-binding domain, and its ligand is hyaluronan, a large mucopolysaccharide. Binding in vivo may require unmasking of the sialylated glycan chains.
LYVE-1 serves as a key marker for lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs) along with podoplanin, PROX-1, Tie-2, and VEGFR-3. It plays a role in lymphatic transport of proteins and immune cells, contributing to immune surveillance.

Target Information
LYVE1 functions as a major receptor for hyaluronan (HA) on lymph vessel walls. It encodes a 322-residue type I membrane protein, 41% similar to CD44, with a single Link module domain. Unlike CD44, LYVE1 colocalizes with HA on lymphatic, not blood vessels, making it a unique lymph-specific HA receptor and marker.
LYVE-1 is primarily expressed on lymphatic endothelial cells, regulating leukocyte and tumor cell trafficking to lymph nodes. It serves as a key marker for lymphatic vasculature, alongside PALE, VEGFR3, and podoplanin. Dysfunction of LYVE1 is associated with Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome.
