Target Information
EB1 family proteins are evolutionarily conserved proteins that bind microtubule plus-ends and centrosomes, regulating microtubule dynamics and organization. The MAPRE genes encode EB1 family proteins—MAPRE1, MAPRE2, and MAPRE3—corresponding to EB1, RP1, and EBF3, respectively. EB1 (MAPRE1) gene, located at 20q11.2, can fuse to MLL in certain leukemia cases. EB1 interacts with the APC tumor-suppressor protein and plays crucial roles in microtubule regulation, cell polarity, and chromosome stability.
