Product Specific Information

The eBioTR23 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Toll-like receptor 1 (TLR1, CD281). TLR1 is an approximately 98 kDa protein belonging to the Toll-like receptor family, closely related to mouse TLR6 in both structure and function.
Through complex formation with TLR2, TLR1 binds bacterially derived triacyl lipopeptides and soluble factors from Neisseria meningitidis. TLR1 is expressed by macrophages, and TLR1-deficient macrophages show impaired cytokine production upon stimulation with triacyl lipopeptides and mycobacterial lipoproteins.

Applications Reported:
This eBioTR23 (TR23) antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of A20 cells. Recommended ≤ 0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Titrate antibody for optimal performance.

Target Information

TLR1 protein is a member of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family, essential for pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity.
TLRs are conserved across species and recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) on infectious agents, mediating cytokine production for effective immune responses.
In mammals, TLRs are transmembrane proteins with leucine-rich repeats in the extracellular domain and an IL-1 receptor motif in the cytoplasmic domain.
In mice, TLR1 interacts with TLR2, enhancing NF-κB activation in response to synthetic lipopeptides.
They recognize lipid configurations of native mycobacterial lipoproteins and various tri-acylated lipopeptides.
Alternative polyadenylation or splicing may result in different TLR1 transcripts.
