Target Information

The nuclear pore complex (NPC) is a protein assembly at the nuclear rim that mediates macromolecular transport between the nucleus and cytoplasm. NUP107 is part of the NUP107–160 subcomplex, which includes NUP160, NUP133, NUP96, and Sec13p homologs. This complex localizes mainly to nuclear pores but also to kinetochores and spindle poles during mitosis. NUP107 depletion leads to defective spindle assembly, indicating multiple cellular roles. It is also identified as an HIV dependency factor (HDF), suggesting potential relevance in antiviral research. Multiple isoforms of NUP107 are known.
