This antibody detects endogenous levels of total MLLT11 / AF1Q protein.
Target Information
The MLLT11 gene (also known as ALL1, HRX, or MLL) located on chromosome 11q23 is known to fuse with various translocation partners in leukemia cases. Translocations such as t(1;11)(q21;q23) result in fusion of the MLL gene with a gene on 1q21, observed in infants with acute myelomonocytic leukemia. The N-terminal portion of the MLL gene is critical for leukemogenesis in such translocations.
This gene encodes a 90-amino-acid protein that is highly expressed in the thymus but not in peripheral lymphoid tissues. Unlike its restricted expression in normal hematopoietic tissue, it is expressed in all leukemic cell lines tested.
