Target Information
SNX27 encodes a member of the sorting nexin family, which includes cytoplasmic and membrane-associated proteins involved in endocytosis of plasma membrane receptors and protein trafficking. All members contain a phosphoinositide-binding PX domain. A similar protein in mouse recruits a serotonin 5-hydroxytryptamine 4 receptor isoform into early endosomes, suggesting an analogous role for the human protein.
