Target Information
This gene encodes a telomere-specific protein that is part of the telomere nucleoprotein complex. It is present at telomeres throughout the cell cycle and functions as an inhibitor of telomerase, acting in cis to limit elongation of chromosome ends. The protein structure includes:
- C-terminal Myb motif
- Dimerization domain near N-terminus
- Acidic N-terminus
Two alternatively spliced transcripts are known.
