This antibody can be used in Sandwich ELISA to detect Galectin 3 using MA5-50300 as the capture antibody and PA5-34912 as the detection antibody.
Target Information
Galectin 3 is a galactose-specific lectin that binds IgE. It may mediate endothelial cell migration via interaction with alpha-3, beta-1 integrin and CSPG4. Together with DMBT1, it is required for terminal differentiation of columnar epithelial cells during early embryogenesis. In the nucleus, Galectin 3 acts as a pre-mRNA splicing factor and is involved in acute inflammatory responses such as neutrophil activation and adhesion, chemoattraction of monocytes and macrophages, opsonization of apoptotic neutrophils, and activation of mast cells.
