Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human BD-4.
Anti-Human BD-4-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect hBD-4 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required.
This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human BD-4 (500-P268) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hBD-4.
Western Blot:
To detect hBD-4 by Western Blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL.
In conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hBD-4 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information
Defensins form a family of antimicrobial and cytotoxic peptides made by neutrophils.
They are short, processed peptide molecules classified into three groups: alpha-, beta-, and theta-defensins.
All beta-defensin genes are densely clustered in four to five syntenic chromosomal regions.
Chromosome 8p23 contains at least two copies of the duplicated beta-defensin cluster, resulting in two identical copies of defensin beta 104 (DEFB104A and DEFB104B) in head-to-head orientation.
This gene, DEFB104A, represents the more centromeric copy.
