Members of this superfamily are often drug targets for conditions such as diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, obesity, and blood clotting disorders.
The ABHD (α/β hydrolase domain containing) gene subfamily includes 15 mostly uncharacterized members, typically utilizing a serine nucleophile forming the G-X-S-X-G nucleophile elbow.
