Target Information
This gene encodes a protein that binds to the C-terminus of adenovirus E1A proteins. This phosphoprotein acts as a transcriptional repressor and may play a role in cellular proliferation. The CTBP1 protein can dimerize with CTBP2 and interact with polycomb group protein complexes involved in developmental gene regulation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
