Doublecortin (DCX)는 신피질 발달 과정에서 뉴런이 최종 분화 위치로 이동할 수 있도록 미세소관의 조직과 안정성을 조절하는 세포질 단백질입니다. 두 개의 doublecortin 도메인을 가지고 있으며, 이 도메인들은 미세소관에 결합합니다. 또한 DCX는 LIS1과 상호작용하여 미세소관 기능을 조절하며, 이 상호작용은 발달 중인 피질에서 중요한 역할을 합니다.
DCX 유전자의 돌연변이는 X-연관 무뇌회증(lissencephaly)의 원인이 됩니다.
