Product Specific Information

The SK3 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD4, a 59-kDa cell surface receptor expressed by thymocytes, mature T helper cells, and monocytes. CD4 serves as a receptor for HIV, and SK3 blocks HIV binding and mixed lymphocyte reaction. SK3 and RPA-T4 antibodies recognize distinct epitopes.

  • Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
  • Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells (5 µL/test; 0.5 µg/test; 100 µL final volume)
  • Recommended Cell Range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test

Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 496 (BUV496) emits at 496 nm and is designed for UV (355 nm) laser-equipped cytometers. Ensure instrument compatibility.

When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies, use:

  • Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42)
  • Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75)
    to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Light Sensitivity: Protect vial and stained samples from light.
Fixation: Samples may be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54).

Target Information

CD4 antigen recognizes MHC class II molecules and acts as a co-receptor for HIV. Expressed mainly on T helper cells, and also on monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. Tissue expression includes thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and specific regions of brain and gut. CD4 aids early T-cell activation and may mediate neuronal damage in infectious or immune-mediated CNS diseases. Multiple spliced transcripts identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
