Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
EXD1 is an RNA-binding component of the PET complex, a multiprotein complex required for the processing of piRNAs during spermatogenesis. The piRNA metabolic process represses transposable elements during meiosis by forming complexes composed of piRNAs and Piwi proteins. This process governs methylation and subsequent repression of transposable elements, which is essential for germline integrity. The PET complex is required during the secondary piRNA metabolic process for PIWIL2 slicing-triggered loading of PIWIL4 piRNAs. Within the PET complex, EXD1 likely functions as an RNA adapter and is considered an inactive exonuclease.
