Target Information
Caspase 7는 시스테인 프로테아제 계열의 일원으로, 세포사멸(apoptotic) 및 염증성 caspase 하위군으로 나뉩니다. 염증성 caspase는 일반적으로 세포사멸과 관련되지 않으며 미생물 병원체에 대한 면역 반응에 관여합니다.
Apoptotic caspase는 초기 활성화 caspase(initiator)와 실행 caspase(executioner)로 구분되며, Caspase 7은 실행 caspase로서 세포사멸 과정에서 세포 기질을 절단하는 역할을 합니다.
Caspase 7은 caspase 1 및 3, 그리고 C. elegans의 CED-3 단백질과의 상동성을 기반으로 확인되었습니다.
대체 스플라이싱으로 인해 Caspase-7 mRNA는 3개의 서로 다른 isoform을 생성하며, XIAP 발현에 의해 직접적으로 억제될 수 있습니다.
Caspase 7 관련 질환에는 제1형 당뇨병(Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus 17)과 Aleutian Mink Disease가 포함됩니다.
