Product Specific Information

Store vial at -20° C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Anti-EDC3 pS161 is specific for phospho S161 mouse EDC3. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with rabbit, pig, monkey, bovine, rat, mouse, and bat based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with EDC3 pS161 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

This gene encodes a protein that is important in mRNA degradation. The encoded protein is a component of a decapping complex that promotes efficient removal of the monomethylguanosine (m7G) cap from mRNAs, as part of the 5to 3 mRNA decay pathway. Mutations in this gene have been identified in human patients with an autosomal recessive form of intellectual disability.
