ADP-ribosylation factor 5 (ARF5)는 인간 ARF 유전자 계열의 구성원으로, 작은 구아닌 뉴클레오타이드 결합 단백질을 암호화합니다. 이들은 콜레라 독소의 ADP-ribosyltransferase 활성을 자극하고, 소포 수송 및 phospholipase D 활성화에 관여합니다.
ARF 단백질은 6개의 ARF와 11개의 ARF-like 단백질로 구성되며, RAS 초과족(superfamily)에 속합니다.
ARF 단백질은 Class I (ARF1, ARF2, ARF3), Class II (ARF4, ARF5), Class III (ARF6)로 분류되며, 각 클래스는 공통적인 유전자 구조를 공유합니다.
ARF5 유전자는 약 3.2 kb의 게놈 DNA를 포함하며 6개의 엑손과 5개의 인트론으로 구성되어 있습니다.
