MA5-11950 targets BCL-XL in FACS, IF, IHC (P), and IP applications.
This antibody can be used to stain cells by IF following fixation/permeabilization in either methanol or 4% paraformaldehyde/0.5% octyl-beta-glucoside.
The antibody can be used at a lower concentration when fixed and permeabilized by the latter method.
Target Information
BCL-XL is a member of the BCL-2 protein family, which forms hetero- or homodimers acting as anti- or pro-apoptotic regulators.
Located at the outer mitochondrial membrane, BCL-XL regulates mitochondrial membrane potential, reactive oxygen species production, and cytochrome C release—key processes in apoptosis.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encode distinct isoforms: the longer isoform inhibits apoptosis, while the shorter activates it.
