Target Information
STING (Stimulator of Interferon Genes) is a 379-amino-acid signaling protein essential for innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferon (IFN-α and IFN-β) expression, establishing a strong antiviral state.
STING is also involved in apoptotic signal transduction via MHC-II association, enabling detection of intracellular viral RNA and B-form DNA. It mediates death signaling through ERK pathway activation and is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane. STING is ubiquitously expressed in most tissues.
