For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Vimentin is a developmentally regulated intermediate filament protein (IFP) found in cells of mesenchymal origin. It is involved in intracellular transport of proteins between the nucleus and plasma membrane. Vimentin, expressed along with desmin during early cellular development, is later replaced by tissue-specific IFPs.
It plays a role in steroid synthesis by serving as a storage network for cholesterol-containing lipid droplets. Phosphorylation of vimentin by protein kinase leads to filament breakdown and cytoskeletal changes that facilitate cholesterol transport to mitochondria, enhancing steroid synthesis.
