S100A16 (S100 Calcium Binding Protein A16) is a protein-coding gene. Diseases associated with S100A16 include Robinow Syndrome (autosomal recessive form). Gene Ontology annotations indicate protein homodimerization and calcium-binding activity. Each monomer binds one calcium ion. S100A16 can promote adipocyte differentiation in vitro; overexpression in preadipocytes enhances proliferation, adipogenesis, and reduces insulin-stimulated glucose uptake.
