Antibody detects endogenous levels of total IL19.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine belonging to the IL10 cytokine subfamily. It is preferentially expressed in monocytes and can bind the IL20 receptor complex, leading to activation of STAT3. In mouse, a similar cytokine up-regulates IL6 and TNF-alpha expression and induces apoptosis, suggesting a role in inflammatory responses. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.
