Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against purified and partially purified Protein A (Staphylococcus aureus) and anti-Chicken Serum.
Cross-reactivity against Protein A from other sources is unknown.
Target Information
Protein A is an Orphan-U GPCR with an unknown ligand. It was identified from genomic analysis of a gene-dense region at human chromosome 12p13.
It appears to be expressed mainly in the brain, though its function remains unknown.
Three alternatively spliced variants have been described; the full length of the third variant is yet to be determined.
