Target Information
NALP2는 세포의 세포사멸 및 염증 반응에 관여하는 세포질 단백질 계열에 속합니다. 대표적인 NALP 단백질인 NALP1과 달리, NALP2는 NACHT 도메인, leucine-rich repeat (LRR), pyrin-containing domain (PYD)만을 포함합니다.
이 단백질은 ASC, CARD8, caspase-1과 상호작용하여 높은 proIL-1β 처리 활성을 가진 inflammasome을 형성하며, NF-kappa-B 및 procaspase-1 활성 조절자로 작용할 수 있습니다.
또한 NALP2는 다른 NALP 계열 단백질과 함께 toll-like receptor (TLR)와 유사한 방식으로 병원체를 감지하는 선천적 면역 센서로 기능할 수 있습니다.
NALP2에 대해서는 서로 다른 이소폼을 암호화하는 두 가지 이상의 대체 스플라이싱 전사 변이체가 보고되어 있습니다.
