Target Information
The forkhead-box (FOX) gene family comprises at least 43 members encoding transcription factors involved in gene regulation and cancer pathogenesis. FOX proteins are monomeric, helix-turn-helix transcription factors with a conserved 110-amino-acid DNA-binding domain.
FOXR1 (Forkhead box protein R1), also known as FOXN5 or DLNB13, is a 292-amino-acid nuclear protein containing one forkhead DNA-binding domain. FOXR1 may contribute to the development of certain invasive carcinomas through chromosomal aberrations such as retroviral integration, gene amplification, or translocation.
