• Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage.
• Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
• Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Streptavidin [Streptomyces avidinii].
No cross reactivity occurs against Avidin.

Target Information

Streptavidin is a tetrameric protein purified from Streptomyces avidinii that binds very tightly to the vitamin biotin with a Kd of approximately 10⁻¹⁴ mol/L.
The high affinity recognition of biotin and biotinylated molecules has made streptavidin one of the most important components in diagnostics and laboratory kits.
