Target Information

RPS6KA2 (RSK3) serine/threonine kinase is a member of the ribosomal S6 kinase (RSK) family. It acts as a signal-transducing intermediate in the cellular response to various growth factors. RPS6KA2 is expressed in many tissues, with higher levels in lung and skeletal muscle. The RSK1–4 kinases are downstream members of the ERK/MAPK signaling cascade. Loss of RSK2 activity in humans leads to Coffin-Lowry syndrome, characterized by mental retardation and growth deficits, and may influence G-protein–coupled signaling regulation.
