Product Specific Information

Description:
The eBioBV13 (BV13) monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse VE-Cadherin (CD144). VE-Cadherin is a 120 kDa member of the type II Cadherin family with five extracellular cadherin domains. It mediates homophilic adhesion between endothelial cells and is localized at adherens junctions. VE-Cadherin is expressed throughout the vasculature and is essential for endothelial cell migration, survival, and assembly into tubular structures. VE-Cadherin⁺CD45⁻ cells may also give rise to hematopoietic cells.

Applications Reported:
Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of bEnd.3 cells. Recommended ≤1 µg/test (in 100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Titrate for optimal performance.

Target Information

VE-cadherin is a calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein in the cadherin superfamily, located on chromosome 16. It contains five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail. It functions in homophilic adhesion and plays a critical role in endothelial cell junction organization. An alternative splice variant has been identified, though the full-length sequence is not fully determined.
