Target Information
IkB-alpha는 NF-κB 활성을 억제하는 40 kDa 단백질입니다. 이 단백질은 NF-κB 이합체와 결합하여 핵 내 이동을 차단함으로써 NF-κB의 전사 활성화를 억제합니다. TNF-α, IL-1β, PMA, LPS, UV 조사, 바이러스 감염 등 다양한 자극에 의해 IkB-alpha가 분해되면 NF-κB가 활성화됩니다.
IkB-alpha의 인산화는 IKKα에 의해 Ser32 및 Ser36 잔기에서 일어나며, 이는 단백질 분해를 유도합니다. IKK 복합체는 IKKα, IKKβ, IKKγ로 구성되어 있으며, NF-κB 활성화에 필수적인 역할을 합니다.
인간에서 IkB-alpha 유전자는 염색체 14q에 위치합니다.
