IRF5 (Interferon Regulatory Factor 5) 유전자는 interferon 조절 인자(IRF) 계열의 전사 인자를 암호화하며, 바이러스 매개 interferon 활성화, 세포 성장 조절, 분화, 세포사멸 및 면역 시스템 활성 조절에 관여합니다. IRF 계열은 tryptophan(W) 반복이 포함된 보존된 N-말단 DNA 결합 도메인을 특징으로 하며, 다양한 스플라이스 변형체가 존재합니다.
