이 단백질들은 호르몬 반응성 유방 종양의 분자 표지자 및 잠재적 치료 표적으로 연구되고 있습니다.
AGR2는 전립선암, 유방암, 폐암, 신장암, 자궁내막암 등에서 발현이 증가하며, 에스트로겐 수용체(ER) 발현과는 양의 상관관계를, 상피세포 성장인자 수용체(EGFR) 발현과는 음의 상관관계를 보입니다.
