Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
- For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
- Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Streptavidin Antibody Rhodamine Conjugated was prepared from monospecific antiserum by delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum and Streptavidin. No reaction was observed against Avidin.
Target Information
Streptavidin is a tetrameric protein purified from Streptomyces avidinii that binds tightly to vitamin biotin with a Kd of ~10⁻¹⁴ mol/L.
The strong biotin-binding affinity makes streptavidin an essential component in diagnostic and laboratory assay systems.
