Product Specific Information
In direct ELISAs, no cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse (rm) IL-27 p28, rmIL-27 EBI-3, or recombinant human (rh) IL-27 heterodimer is observed.
In Western blots, no cross-reactivity with rmIL-27 p28 or rhIL-27 heterodimer is observed.
Reconstitute in sterile PBS to a final concentration of 0.5 mg/mL.
Target Information
IL-27 (Interleukin 27) is a cytokine belonging to the IL-12 family, composed of EBI3 and p28 subunits. It is produced by activated dendritic cells and macrophages in response to Toll-like receptor ligands and pro-inflammatory cytokines.
IL-27 promotes CD4+ T cell differentiation to the Th1 lineage by inducing T-bet expression and upregulating IL-12R beta2, thereby suppressing Th2 and Th17 responses. It acts through WSX-1 and gp130 receptors, activating the Jak/STAT signaling cascade.
IL-27 has potential therapeutic relevance in cancer, inducing anti-tumor activity mediated by CD8+ T-cells, IFN-gamma, and T-bet.
In humans, the IL-27 gene is located on the p arm of chromosome 16.
